- At present the Astrakhan State Medical Academy has the solid staff of scientific workers, it includes 75 Doctors of Sciences and Professors, more than 300 Candidates of Sciences and Readers. The Medical Academy is the regional basic organization of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property and every year it provides the registration of more than 20 innovations. They are introduced on the federal and regional levels. The Academy is awarded the Golden Medal in the 100 Best Scientific-Research Institutions and Organizations of Russia competition. The leading school of infectionists, supervisor professor H. M. Galimzyanov, received the state support twice (2011, 2012), there were Grants of the President of RF. Seven business innovational institutions of the academy make the research according to Grants of special Fund for Supporting the Development of Business Institutions in the Scientific and Technological Spheres.
