- Astrakhan State Technical University is the only university in the Caspian Region in southern Russia, which provides systematic training of competent personnel for the industrial, transportation, environmental, fisheries and food processing companies. In the field of higher education training is provided in 58 specialties, 45 bachelors, 25 master's directions. Training of the highest qualification is held on 40 postgraduate specialties and 3 doctoral specialties. The research activities are carried out in 12 scientific fields. Areas of research correspond to the priority areas of science, technology and engineering of the Russian Federation (Living Systems, Environmental Management, Energy and Energy saving, Information Systems) and List of Critical Technologies of the Russian Federation, the tasks of the national project Development of Agriculture.
