- The Ministry of Education and Science of the Astrakhan Region is executive authority of the Astrakhan Region, carrying out a state policy, standard and legal regulation in the field of education, scientific activity, education, guardianship, social support and social protection in the territory of the region. Also the Ministry ensures the implementation of the constitutional right to education. There are four higher education institutions taking part in the collective exposition organized by the Ministry such as the Astrakhan State University, the Astrakhan State Technical University, the Astrakhan State Medical University, the Astrakhan Institute of Civil Engineering and two research institutes — the All-Russian Research Institute of the Irrigated Vegetable Growing and Melon Growing, the Caspian Branch of P. P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
